Beautiful Rock Creek flows
through Red Lodge. Just a one-hour drive from Billings Logan
International Airport, Gallagher’s Irish Rose is the perfect
alternative to a hotel or motel for exploring Yellowstone Country.
Artist Leah Gallagher’s original art
work, plus the work of other artists, adorns our elegant, lovingly
restored stately home (circa 1910). The décor includes
handmade rugs and crafts collected by the hosts in their travels. Each
room has been individually decorated to create a special place in your
home away from home. Let this be your place to relax from your travels
and fun in Montana’s Big Sky Country.
Summertime activities in and around Red Lodge
include hiking, horseback riding, fishing, animal viewing, swimming,
boating, golfing, tennis and numerous others.
Summer is the time to relax on the front porch,
enjoy the mountain air, and watch the day’s activities on
Broadway. Afternoon refreshments are served starting at 4:00 p.m.
Wintertime activities in and around Red Lodge
include skiing (both downhill and cross country), snowboarding,
snowmobiling and the Red Lodge Winter Festival, the National Ski-Joring
Finals and the annual Christmas Stroll.
Winter is the time to relax by the living room fireplace
with a hot drink or a glass of wine. Both the living room and
library
boast chess tables and a collection of board games. Guest are
encouraged to relax with a book from our library. Subjects include an
eclectic assortment of books reflecting the owners’ interest
in fine art, crafts, quilting, gardening, flying, history, travel,
biography and popular fiction. Complimentary gourmet coffee, tea,
hot chocolate, bottled water and soft drinks are available to our
guests.
Partake of a hearty mountain breakfast or lighter
fare. You may choose between a delicious, home made, hearty breakfast
(changing daily) or lighter breakfast of fresh fruit and home made
muffins, breads or scones.
Autumn is the time to enjoy golden aspen trees on
the slopes along with other fall colors. Enjoy the leisurely pace of
autumn in Red Lodge and unwind in one of Irish Rose’s spa
tubs or in front of a cozy gas fire place. Leave your vehicle parked
while you visit galleries, fine restaurants, the theatre, shops, a
bookstore, casinos, bowling alley, Carnegie Library, The Candy Emporium
and numerous other attractions, all within a short walk of the Irish
Rose. Red Lodge Mountain Ski Resort, with its runs visible from our
place, is just a six mile drive up Red Lodge Mountain. A scenic 18 hole
golf course with views of the Beartooth Mountains is located just two
miles north of the Irish Rose.
Visit the Beartooth Nature Center, a native wildlife reserve located
just 1 1/2 miles from the Irish Rose. This home to over 65
animals, including wolves, eagles, mountain lions, owls, coyotes,
hawks, bison and more, is open daily all year.
Let the Irish Rose be headquarters for your horseback riding, rafting,
fishing, hiking or skiing adventure. We have a wealth of information on
outdoor activities to share with our guests.
